Apple Sauce

Now that Elijah has passed the eighteen month milestone, we keep waiting for his vocabulary to explode; however, he shows little interest in developing this skill. Not to say that he doesn't understand much. On the contrary, he seems to constantly surprise us with the extent of his comprehension. But at this point he says very little other than "ouch" "ah, oh" and "bye, bye."

Except for one word that he is constantly refining. That word: "Apple!" or "Apple Sauce."

The other night we were eating at the dinner table. Elijah waves his little hands in the air, signaling to us he's all done. However, lately we've discovered this does not always mean he has finished eating, but merely no longer interested with the particular food on his plate.

And how do we know this? Because he then proceeds to chant his favorite word. "Apple, Apple, Apple, Apple, Apple, Apple."
