"No" can be cute

Now that Elijah has started to talk, every little word is exciting to hear. The past several weeks has yielded many delights, such as "peas" ('please' as he signs it by rubbing his hand over his chest), "uhtr" (truck), "oang" (orange), and "no" (you know what this one is). What is so adorable is that it isn't used in a rebellios context, but simply an announcement of his distaste.

This past Tuesday, as he was 'walking' his tricycle along, I put my foot out to give him a push. He turned around in his seat and pushed my leg away, "nooo." Who would have thought that "no" could be so sweet.

I'm pretty sure it won't always be.
