Air Show 2010
A few weekends ago (October 10), we all went to Atlanta for the weekend to see the Great Georgia Air show in Peachtree City with "Grandadio." We got to see all kinds of airplanes up close and in the air. We saw stunt aerobatics from Team Chaos and their jet truck that reaches 375 miles an hour. We saw an explosive reenactment of the Battle at Midway. We saw (and heard) the up close and loud fly by's of military jets. We sweated out under a clear, not a cloud in the sky, October sun (we forgot the sun screen, so I spent the afternoon providing shade for the little guy). We sought refreshment with lemon ices (Elijah ate almost all of Stephanie's). Grandadio bought "Major Squeeze" a Dog Tag. Elijah even sat in a HH-60 Pave Hawk Helicopter of the 301st Rescue Squadron.
We had a wonderful afternoon, but out of everything we experienced, Elijah's favorite attraction was the bus ride to and from the parking lot. Now he points out every "Ellow Bus" we pass and pleads to take a ride. I'm pretty sure he'll get the chance in a few years... where the joys of such pleasure will unfortunately wear off. (Why are we in such a hurry to grow up?)
One more thing... does anyone else recall school buses having such little leg room?
