Today after school, Elijah informed his mother, "Yellow's not bad." She wa a bit confused if he meant the shirt he wore that day was the wrong shade for color day. It wasn't until he clarified, "It's not red or the other colors," that she started realizing what he was referring to: his behavior rating.
Green, his consistent color, is the one for good behavior. Yellow is when they had to be warned, the come red, blue, and black respectively. So apparently he was reprimanded and warned by a teacher.
Elijah teared up when he told his mama and explained that he got in trouble for talking to one of the girls at his table, even after he was told to be quiet.
Were we disappointed? Actually, no, not at all. I was quite proud tht my son showed signs of repentant. Whether is emotional sorrow that is merely regretful of getting caught pr whether is true spiritual tepentance that leads to life change is yet to be seen. But I do know that tgis is what God wants from us: to mourn over our disobedience, our rebellious sin, and turn away towards The Father.
