Honesty

We've always congratulated Elijah for any job well done (like cleaning his plate or using the potty) with an excited "Good job, Buddy!"

More recently Elijah has started patting himself on the back. "I did good job," sometimes even when he hasn't. He has even taken to applauding us for our efforts, like cleaning up HIS toys. "Good job, Daddy!"

But tonight when he failed to clean his plate and was prompted for his usual response, "Did you do a good job?" He responded frankly, "No."
